I love Teen Titans animated! I made a Starfire costume back in April 2007, so I thought I would make Raven next.

I finished this in time for Melbourne Armageddon, held on 13/14th of October 2007. I wore it on the first day. I'm really happy with how well it turned out, the boots in particular are very comfortable. I'm looking forward to wearing it again.

The image on the far right is thanks to Peter Fallon of Castle Software.

I bought the wig, it started life as an epic long wig, a cosworx exclusive in dark purple. It was very hard to find a wig in the right colour, that didn't have a fringe and was able to be styled with a centre parting. I had my hairdresser cut it for me. I made the black bodysuit myself, using a kwik sew pattern. The cloak fabric was a very lucky find, it's linen in just the perfect shade of blue! It was cut as a half circle, using the full width of the fabric. The hood overlaps at the front, and there is no fastening. It just slides on over my head. I cut the hood to have a point at the front, but I don't have any pics of it yet. I made the boot covers myself and I love how they turned out. The shoes I used have a lycra overlay, so it was really easy to sew the covers to the shoes. I'm wearing white tights, because it's a lot easier than make up, and the make up on my face and hands is Kryolan aquacolour in white. The gem is from Spotlight and it's attached using the mounting tape.

A friend of mine made the gems for me. I love how well they turned out. The ones on my hands are attached using my fave product - 3M heavy duty double sided mounting tape. That stuff is super strong. The one on the cloak has sticky velcro on the back, and sew on velcro on the cloak. The belt is made from thin flexible plastic painted gold, and the gems are attached using the double sided mounting tape. The belt itself as fastened at the back with velcro.

Much of my reference came from watching the episodes, and it's really hard to find good images online. Will need to do some caps and add them sometime.
