I made this costume to be Mara Jade to my fiance's Luke Skywalker. I must admit, I wasn't all that keen on it before I made it, but the more I wear it, the more I like it. I would like to fix it up to be more accurate at some stage, but I'm not sure when that will be.

The bodysuit is made with Kwik Sew 2722, and I must say, its an excellent pattern, and very easy to use! I cut out a mock up, and marked the line where the piping needed to be inserted. I cut my mock up down that line, and added a seam allowance to that edge. I now had my pattern!
I cut it out of 4 way stretch pvc (I tried to find one with the least shine) and I only just had enough fabric. lol I inserted the piping down the front, and adjusted the fit at the sides at the back. It took a bit of adjustment, but I needed to take care, because the pvc doesnt have as much stretch as the pattern calls for, so I was worried there might be too much strain on my fabric... which would be very very bad. lol Each seam has reinforcing stitching, just in case it comes apart. I have an invisible zip down the centre back.
The straps around the arms are made from the same thinner leather I used for the pouches on the Luke Bespin, so they are soft and not too hard and uncomfortable. The buckles came from a leather store. They are connected at the back at a large ring. I will take pics soon.
The belt is made from a thicker leather (belly strip). It's not straight, it's curved so that it sits on the hips better. The side is also curved as well. It fastens at the back with a snap, but its covered by a pouch :) The buckle at the front is also cut from thin aluminium and attached with 3M heavy duty mounting tape!
The knee pads used to be grey, but MS painted them black. I wasn't able to find any nice shin pads, so I left them off, and wore my boots that have silver buckles on them. I thought they looked like something Mara might wear.
The cloak is a half circle, made from a mauve linen. I know her cloak is meant to be sandy brown, but the glow from her saber makes it look purple, and I kinda like the look.
