I'm a Hufflepuff at heart, so I made myself Hufflepuff robes in the style seen in 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' to wear to the release of 'Half Blood Prince' and 'Goblet of Fire'.

You can see my photos from Goblet of Fire here.

I went to a photoshoot with other Billywigs members, and I got some fantastic pictures taken by Ali.

Finally, I got some better pics! Huge thanks to Floatyman and Guri.

The pics above were taken by Floatyman.

I also finally got some good pics of Quinten's Robes, since we had waited in line together with Guri and took some photos at the local university. I made his robes back around when the Goblet of Fire movie came out. I used exactly the same fabrics for his as I did for mine.

I got a 'Head Girl' pin off eBay.

I also got a new wand from Alivans. I've thought about putting a pocket in my robes to hold my wand.

I also made a new skirt for my skirt tutorial, although I will probably make another one soon out of wool.

I have also ordered a sweater from Hobbies House of Wizard Wear.

I took a couple of photos of my robes on my dress form, and another one to compare the colours between my tie, my lining / facing, and the colours on my patch.

Here's one of the photos I got from Lisa. I am going to get some more photos taken in the next few weeks.

Yesterday was fantastic. Lisa and I got up really early and got into the city at 5am. We even got interviewed by the Sunday Mail, and they took some photos of us. I've scanned the one they used, but I am hoping to get a colour copy of one of the photos they took. That's me on the left, and Lisa on the right, and yes, that's a real owl.

I'm all set. Costume is all done, and I'm ready to head off to my friend's birthday party. Pics will come later.

Tonight I did some more work on my robes. I finished sewing the black front and back pieces together, and also did the same with the lining. Then I pinned the lining and facing to the rest of the robes. It's all ready to sew down the front. I took a photo of it inside out. That's the lining you can see on the inside. The yellow facing is in the middle, then the bottom layer is the black gaberdine of the rest of the robes. Once it's sewn together, I'll turn it the right way around, and I will be able to work on pinning and sewing the facings to the lining. I also ordered my Hufflepuff tie tonight from wizard ties.

It's not sewn together, just pinned in places. I wanted to share a couple of pics :)

That's my Gryffindor tie, since I don't have a Hufflepuff one yet :) It was on my dress form anyway, so I just left it on, and put the robes over the top. I also folded up one of the sleeves to show the fabric colour. I think that this the only photo that I've take that shows the colour pretty accurately. I liked it because it's not a bright yellow, it's more a mustardy, dirty yellow. I know that in PoA it's meant to be more of a brown, but it will look odd with my tie. I think that mustard is a good half way point between bright yellow and brown ;)

I'm also going to re-make my skirt. I found the most lovely fabric yesterday, and it's not very expensive either. So, I'm going to get some when I can, and make a new skirt.

I'm making my robes with three different fabrics - black gaberdine, mustard cotton, and a black acetate lining.
