I made this back in October 1999 to wear to BOBW 7. By that time, I had worn my Ranger costume at least 3 times to various events and loved it. However, with Bruce Boxleitner lined up as one of the guests, I couldn't resist the opportunity to make something new. It's just as well too, because I had an absolute ball. At one stage, he pointed me out in the audience and in a commanding voice, he told me to stand up, said 'nice uniform' and told me I could sit down again.

I don't remember what the fabric was that I made this out of. It was something cheap, that's all I remember. I used a pale blue trim and zig zagged it on to get the effect of the trim, and from a distance it looked okay. The collar was difficult, as I was still getting the hang of doing collars, but I'm much better at it now. I'd like to re-do this costume just for the fun of it. I'm pretty sure that I have enough gaberdine in my stash somewhere. The metal pieces were made for me by a friend. They are thin pieces of metal, with finished edges and spray painted gold.

The photos below were taken in 2002 at a New Years party, when I had the chance to wear it again.
